Back to Basics: The White Tee

It can be a challenge at times, trying to figure out what to wear, how to wear it, what to pair it with. In the end all you need a solid white tee! It’s versatile and goes with literally any look you are trying to pull off from casual to semi-formal having a few solid white tees in your closet ready to go is a MUST!

R&W Co white tee and Textured Weave 5-pocket pants

Whether you are spending an afternoon in the backyard BBQing with family friends or taking a summer night on the town you really can’t go wrong. I matched this basic white tee from RW&CO along with a pair of Textured weave 5-pocket pants, I didn’t even have to think about putting my outfit together.

Just remember although it’s basic, you should get a good cotton blend that feels comfortable, I recommend a supima cotton blend to get that soft touch as well as extra strength as well as color retention! Keep those whites looking crisp longer and lasting longer as well.

  • The Citizen Promaster Sailhawk

    The Citizen Promaster Sailhawk

Watches have always been a big interest of mine ever since I was a kid. I still remember being in the schoolyard rocking my Ninja Turtles digital watch fully equipped with a flip-up turtle shell to reveal the time. I’ve been hooked ever since! Over the years my collection of watches has grown into a variety of pieces set for different occasions. I always say, having a watch box with some key timepieces for a man is the equivalent of the women’s jewellery box. Your average man doesn’t tend to wear/own a lot of jewellery so watches are what we use to class it up and bring everything together. So get yourself a selection that suits your tastes and needs, a timepiece is much more than just a watch. With Valentine’s Day just around the corner this would make for the perfect gift for that gent in your life!

Partnering with The Citizen Watch Group, they were kind enough to send me a Promaster Sailhawk. Now, I do quite a bit of travel which includes some light diving and snorkelling more often than not. That being said I’ve been in the market for a solid timepiece that won’t get ruined by saltwater. This is my second timepiece in the Promaster series (the first being a diver) and the polyurethane strap that it comes with is EXACTLY what drew me to it initially. Not to mention it came standard in blue which is right up my alley. With a rated water resistance of 200 meters, it’s more than enough for your average water enthusiast. Let’s talk about function for the average user. First off, It boasts Citizens Eco-Drive technology which for me is hands down one of the best features! 100% light powered (any light will do), which means you will never have to replace the battery! Nice feature right?! It also comes with world time in 30 cities, with your choice of two to display which I find super helpful when travelling I don’t have to fiddle with my watch as I just set either the main or secondary time to my next destination before I go. All in all a pretty solid piece, I love the colour the face is bold its black dial, mineral crystal face, and stainless steel case, and 360° Bezel brings it all together. Personally I have skinny wrists but the 44mm case size looks great on and I’m very happy overall.

After wearing around over the past month, my only issue with it is it doesn’t have a screw-down crown. Being a watch that is for marine life, users have to be careful to ensure the crown is set before to prevent potential water damage and any potential compromise to water-resistance. For the most part, it’s a feature I like to see in any marine style timepiece. But other than that small detail I think they really nailed it with the Promaster Sailhawk and I’m sure it will stay in my rotation competing only with my Promaster Aqualand for when I travel to beach/diving destinations!

At this price point, I would say if you don’t already own a timepiece you can comfortably take into the water, the Promaster Sailhawk is a great piece to add to any collection.

  • Winter Sneakers To Keep You Looking Fresh!

Winter Sneakers To Keep You Looking Fresh!

    Winter sucks! Period.

But why do we have to wear ugly-ass winter boots that are there just for function? Why can’t someone make warmish winter boots that look dope? Well, I have scoured around looking for something that would fill the void, and I think I have done just that. Check out some sneakers and sneaker boots you can rock this winter to keep your feet warm and looking fresh.

    MEN’S H.F/1.3 and 1.4 PRIMEKNITS

I personally picked these bad boys up and I will say that they are one of the best pickups I made in all of 2017. They are plenty warm, I’ve been wearing them in the snow for that last month and am loving them, my only regret is being a dummy and not buying them in black and or setting them up with creps before I took em out. I would recommend buying them in black, they still look dope but you don’t have to worry as much about them getting dirty.

If you aren’t keen on hightops (although I don’t know why you would be in the winter) Adidas also has them in a low rise model. all models are weatherproof, but like I said earlier I would totally hit em up with creps to keep the stains away.

    MEN’S NMD XR1 WINTER SHOES

For those of you who are still on that NMD hype train which many are, Adidas also released their XR 1 Winter NMD. With weatherproof primeknit upper and built in sock to keep your ankles warm. Personally I’m not a huge fan of the built in sock for the XR1 or NMD in general. But hey maybe you do and that’s all that really matters.

    MEN’S FORUM PRIMEKNIT WINTER SHOES

Now the Adidas Forum primeknits actually look like winter sneakers to me. again with the weatherproof primeknit upper. the high top looks simple yet still dope if you can rock red! I would cop 8/10.

NIKE SF AIR FORCE 1 HI IBEX

With all the iterations of the AF1SF which i picked up the second release of in tan. They are super comfortable to wear, even for longer periods. the Ibex brings a higher tongue, a larger hi-top in general, and the wrap around laces are a nice touch. Best of all is the fact they are zippered in the front for ease of use. Although like my pair of AF 1.3 they come in WHITE! So you best treat them before wearing them out or after 2 or three wears they will be dirty AF!

But I might actually go out and cop a pair and do a proper review on them soon.

NIKE SFB GEN 2 20.5CM (APPROX.)

The Nike SFB Gen 2 is the only boots/sneaker on this list that is actually marketed as unisex. Although these days girls wear guys shoes all the time! Lets face it, sneaker releases are generally geared towards males, so I don’t blame them at all. But in any case, lets get down to these boots, this is also the only one on this list that i feel like, looks more boot than sneaker. The design is very militaristic, but pretty dope considering the military inspo has been entering more of the spotlight in streetwear as of late.

Are you planning any winter sneaker pickups?

  • Got Myself Some Glasses

    Got Myself Some Glasses

As I get older I notice my body isn’t what it used to be. Namely, my recovery time after drinking (which is why I don’t really drink anymore) and more recently my eyesight. I’m not going blind or anything but after visiting my local optician found out that I have slight astigmatism. At night I’m seeing more stop lights and rear tail lights while I’m driving and everything just seems a touch blurry. So it was time to get on that glasses game! Talking to friends and seeing how much my parents paid for their glasses I was NOT looking forward to shelling out a small fortune for some specs. Enter Bonlook! These guys are awesome, they have dope frames, recently partnered with local influencers to design a Toronto Collective line. The best part is they won’t even make a dent in your wallet.

I decided to pick up two pairs, one for my day to day and one pair to go with one of my many blue suits. The first pair is a simple black frame with stainless accents, durable, stylish, and am super happy with them. Best of all, my eyesight is CRISP again!

Just to add some variety to the mix, I also picked up a pair of what my friends are calling my new Harry Potter glasses lol. I am totally ok with that! They are a dope round oversize pair from the Toronto Collective they did recently with

I like that they are different, and add a nice punch to one of my many blue suits!

So guys, get out there and get your eyes checked! It’s super important and it’s something you want to be perfect for the rest of your life. and if you decide you need a pair, head on over to Bonlook and get yourself a pair or three. The staff is super helpful, the prices are more than reasonable, and best of all is you get step by step notifications with the progress of your order via email. You can take a look at their entire collection online HERE!

What do you guys think of the frames I picked up?

  • OFF-WHITE is about to get an “Affordable” ish line

OFF-WHITE is about to get an “Affordable” ish line

Off-White and Virgil have been ON FIRE over the last year! Well at least for anyone in the streetwear scene. They have announced that they will be launching a new affordable line titled “For All”. With pieces ranging from  $95 USD for a tee, to  170 USD for a hoodie. Not cheap, but cheaper. Still much better than paying $800+ for a hoodie. With all the hype they’ve gotten via their recent Nike Ten collaboroonie, even more eyes are on them all the dope pieces they have been producing.

So for you looking to get some pieces in  your collection without completely going bankrupt, luxury streetwear seems to be coming up a touch more affordable! If you’re into it, I would say get out there and cop ASAP once it hits shelves because like everything else that’s fire in streetwear I guarantee that it will be sold out in no time!

Stay tuned for more photos and release info.

What do you think of O/W VS other luxury streetwear?
